UPDATE: Facebook Goes Down For Second Time In A Week
Won't someone think of the selfies?
Facebook went down Monday for at least the second time in the last week but came back after nearly an hour of outage.
Problems started being reported around 3 p.m. ET. Some users could not access the site at all, while others reported seeing extremely slow service.
Service appeared to resume around 3:50.

Facebook did not immediately return a request for more information from Patch. But the social media giant told CNBC that service went down because of a “configuration issue.”
“We’re currently restoring Facebook services that people had trouble accessing earlier today due to a configuration issue,” Facebook told CNBC. “We’re working to bring things back to normal for everyone.”

During the outage, Facebook users again got the following message: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.”
Instagram, which Facebook owns, was also inaccessible.
Thursday, Facebook went down for a few minutes before springing back into action.
The website downdetector.com, which tells users the status of a website at any give time, was also not responding, presumably due to the high volume of people trying to search for Facebook’s status.
