UPDATE: Explosion At Luxury Condo Building Near Miami; 6 Injuries Confirmed

The explosion happened Friday morning.

An explosion Friday at a luxury beach condo near Miami left at least six people injured, according to the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department.

The Department confirmed the explosion and said one patients was transported by helicopter, while two were transported “by ground.”

A boiler room exploded on the top floor of a Chateau Beach luxury residence on Sunny Isles Beach, about 20 miles north of Miami, according to the Miami Herald.

Injuries occurred from falling pieces of debris following the explosion, the Herald reported.

The fire department was scheduled to hold a press conference Friday afternoon.

On its website, Chateau Beach describes itself as an “elegant barrier island community.”
