Caitlyn Jenner Uses Bathroom At Trump Tower -- And Makes National Headlines

The Olympian-turned-reality-TV-star used the bathroom at Donald Trump's luxury skyscraper to make a point to Ted Cruz.

Urgent, breaking news just in this morning: Caitlyn Jenner used the bathroom at Trump Tower.

Yes, in this crazy 2016 election campaign, that counts as an important development that will make headlines across the country Thursday.

Why? Let's explain.

States and cities across the country are passing or debating passing "bathroom bills" — some that allow people to use bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity; others that threaten jail time for people who do.

(These laws, we remind you, are a solution to a problem that doesn't exist and are completely unenforcable. Meanwhile, they strip transgender people of their basic human rights and dignity.)

Every presidential candidate, on both sides, has spoken out against them. Except for one.

Our old pal Ted Cruz.

Cruz has gone so far as to release a campaign ad where he asks, "Should a grown man pretending to be a woman be allowed to use the women’s restroom? The same restroom used by your daughter? Your wife?"

Even Donald Trump — ban-all-Muslims, Mexicans-are-rapists, build-the-wall Donald Trump — says these laws are unnecessary.

So Cruz's campaign, seeing a window to attack the man crushing him in the race for the Republican nomination, has gone on an all-out attack against these laws and taking aim at Trump.

“He thought that men should be able to go into the girls’ bathroom if they want to,” Cruz said. “Now let me ask you: Have we gone stark-raving nuts?”

Trump used the opportunity to reach out to one of the biggest trans activists in the world. He said Jenner could use whatever bathroom she wanted if she visited a Trump facility. So she did.

In a video she posted to her Instagram account, Jenner is seen walking out of a bathroom at Trump Tower.

At the end, she looks at the camera and says, "By the way Ted, nobody got molested.”
