'A Charlie Brown Christmas': How To See It Without Streaming Fee
Apple TV+ acquired the rights to "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and other holiday classics based on Charles M. Schulz's "Peanuts" comic strip.

ACROSS AMERICA — "A Charlie Brown Christmas" airs at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, giving fans of the beloved holiday classic a chance to watch without subscribing to streaming services.
Apple TV+ set off a kerfuffle last year when it said it would steam the specials based on Charles M. Schulz's "Peanuts" comic strip.
The specials had been ABC television holiday staples since the 1960s. When they were yanked from the holiday schedule, fans ached with the same betrayal and despair that the hapless Charlie Brown felt every time fussbudget Lucy Van Pelt pulled away the football.

Apple TV+ capitulated and made a deal with PBS to offer the holiday specials free to viewers. The deal also included "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving."
