CNN Refused To Put Kellyanne Conway On The Air

Conway denies that she was available for the spot, but the network told the White House it wouldn't have her on.

CNN declined to put Kellyanne Conway on the air this Sunday, according to the network's PR department.

Conway, a senior counselor to President Trump, initially denied reports that CNN turned her down.

"I could do no live Sunday shows this week BC of family," she said in a tweet.

A report from the New York Times said Monday that CNN declined to have the spokeswoman on the show "State of the Union" for two reasons: First, it had requested Vice President Mike Pence's presence instead. And second, it had "serious questions about her credibility."

Conway called this report "false," and said she was invited to CNN Monday and Tuesday.

It seems the miscommunication may have occurred between Conway and the White House, because CNN alleges that it turned down an offer from the administration for her to appear:

CNN has had a tense relationship with the Trump administration since he called its reporting on a secret dossier "fake news."

Conway continues to be plagued by a gaffe she made in an interview that aired last Thursday, when she referred to a non-existent Bowling Green Massacre. Though she said she simply "misspoke," reports came out Monday that she had made reference to the same fictional event in an interview with Comsomoplitan Magazine.
