Craig Strickland and his friend were hunting on an Oklahoma lake.

The body of Craig Strickland, the country singer who had been reported missing for more than a week, was found Monday morning, according to a Twitter post from his wife.

Strickland had been hunting with a friend at Oklahoma’s Kaw Lake.

The 29-year-old Strickland and 22-year-old Chase Morland left for the hunting trip after Christmas. A capsized boat was found Sunday, December 27, after family members reported them missing.

Officials found Morland’s body two days later at the lake, according to KFOR, but Strickland remained missing. It was not immediately clear exactly where Strickland’s body was found.

A strong ice storm hit the area where Strickland and Morland were hunting. The pair seemed to understand the danger, as Morland sent a haunting tweet before their disappearance.

Strickland is the lead singer for the Arkansas-based band Backroad Anthem.

A GoFundMe page for Strickland’s family had raised nearly $10,000 as of Monday afternoon.

“Our deepest condolences to the family of Craig Strickland,” country music legend Charlie Daniels tweeted. “May the presence of our merciful God surround you and give you peace.”
