Dallas Police Killer Wanted To Be A Cop, Family Says
In an interview with The Blaze, Micah Johnson's family said he "wanted to protect his country."

Micah Johnson, who opened fire on a peaceful police protest in Dallas last week and killed five officers, wanted to be a cop growing up before he joined the military, his family said in an interview with The Blaze.
"He loved his country,” Johnson's mother, Daphnie, told the website. “He wanted to protect his country.”
But after six years in the Army, including a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan, Johnson came back harboring resentment toward the U.S. government.

“The military was not what Micah thought it would be,” she said. “He was very disappointed, very disappointed. But it may be that the ideal that he thought of our government, what he thought the military represented, it just didn’t live up to his expectations.”
