2016 Delaware Republican Primary Results: Donald Trump Wins

Donald Trump should get another big win over Ted Cruz and John Kasich as Delaware takes to the polls.

Donald Trump has been declared the winner of the Delaware Republican primary, as the real estate developer completed a clean sweep of voting in five states Tuesday.

The real estate developer was coming off of a commanding performance in his home state last week, and if Texas Sen. Ted Cruz or Ohio Gov. John Kasich wanted to make up any ground on him in the race when five states vote Tuesday, it would likely have to be elsewhere.

Nevertheless, the state's polls were open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. local time on April 26. Delaware residents can find their polling places here.

Trump's magic number was still 1,237. That's how many delegates he needs to hold a simple delegate majority heading in to July's GOP convention.

Otherwise, a contested convention would ensue, where many of Trump's delegates are expected to flee in a second round of voting once they are unbound to the candidate.

A Delaware win would give Trump all of the state's 16 all-or-nothing delegates. That process should be much easier for Trump to grasp than in other states, where he has been outmaneuvered by the more organized Cruz in securing unbound delegates.

But he won't have to worry about that in Delaware. And polling shows he's got this one all but in the bag.

Gravis Marketing robo-called 1,038 likely Republican primary voters on April 17 and 18. Trump had 55 percent of the support, compared to 18 for Kasich and 15 for Cruz. The poll, which had a 3-percent margin of error, is the latest conducted in the state.

Heading into Tuesday's voting, Trump holds 845 pledged delegates, compared to Cruz's 559 and Kasich's 148.
