DNC's Hacked Trump Research May Have Surfaced
An anonymous source has sent both Gawker and The Smoking Gun more than 200 pages of what appears to be a Democratic Party document.
More than 200 pages of what appears to be stolen opposition research on Donald Trump from the Democratic National Committee was sent to Gawker and The Smoking Gun today by an individual using the name "Guccifer 2.0." The name references an infamous Romanian hacker now behind bars.
The document, apparently created in December 2015, details extensive strategies and narratives for discrediting Trump's presidential campaign.
Reports that the DNC's files had been hacked emerged Tuesday after Democratic officials and security experts detected the breach. A spokesman for the Kremlin denied that Russian government was at all involved in the cyber attack.

According to the DNC, no donor information or financial documents were stolen in the hack.
But according to Gawker, Guccifer 2.0 claimed to have, "about 100 Gb of data including financial reports, donors’ lists, election programs, action plans against Republicans, personal mails, etc.”

The opposition research document itself contains a massive amount of information, supposedly about the DNC's view of the best way to attack Trump in the general election. It criticizes his lack of a "core," divisive campaign, policies, business skills, misogyny, wealth and personal history.
It is also extensively sourced. For every possible criticism on Trump the document lists, there are dates, quotes, and citations to refer to when attacking him.
Trump has already issued a statement in response, accusing the DNC of faking the hacking as a distraction from the issues with the party and its presumptive nominee, Hillary Clinton. He added, "Too bad the DNC doesn't hack Crooked Hillary's, 33,000 missing emails."
