Donald Trump Throws Tantrum After Press Calls Him Out On Vet Donations
He held a press conference at Trump Tower on Tuesday that ended up being more of a cry for help.

The last time we checked in with Donald Trump and his fundraiser for veterans, nobody on his staff could agree on how much money he had actually raised and only about half of what he claimed was accounted for by the charities themselves.
So Trump tried on Tuesday to set the record straight. Again.
In a press conference at Trump Tower in Manhattan, Trump berated the "dishonest media" for having the utter gall to perform its most basic duty — holding people in power accountable. Trump did release a document detailing his donations to veterans, but even those numbers didn't jibe with what he's claimed to have raised.

“What I don’t want is when I raise millions of dollars, and this sleazy guy over here — look, he’s a sleaze in my book,” Trump said. “You’re a sleaze because you know the facts and you know the facts well.”
Trump certainly chose a strange hill to die on.
To recap: Trump has been boasting for months about "$6 million" he's raised for veterans. "I don’t want the credit for it," Trump said Tuesday about the nationally televised fundraiser he held opposite a Fox News Republican debate in January.
But national media reports pegged the number actually donated in the range of $2 million to $3.1 million.
Last week, after being pressed on the figures several times — including whether he had actually given away his own $1 million yet — Trump called up a charity out of the blue to give away his million-dollar donation.
That personal donation was included in his full list he released Tuesday of individual donations to separate charities. But Trump's own accounting adds up to just $5.6 million — a noteworthy achievement for sure, but still less than the $6 million he's been trumpeting for months.
The fact that Trump released the list is noteworthy in itself and one of the biggest shows of transparency for the candidate on the campaign trail so far. But it was all in response to immense pressure from "the media" that Trump loves to condemn.
Amazing what happens when you're asked to actually show proof for the big, bold declarations you so often make.
Now, how about those tax returns?
