Donald Trump's Son Gets Threatening Letter With White Powder

A threatening letter was sent to the New York City home of Donald Trump's son, Eric, according to multiple national news outlets, all of whom cited anonymous sources.

Eric Trump's wife, Lara, opened the letter Thursday, which warned that if Donald Trump doesn't drop out of the presidential race, "harm will come to the kids," CBS News reported.

And when she opened the letter, which was postmarked from Massachusetts, a "white powder" fell out, according to ABC News, adding that the powder was later deemed not hazardous.

Fire crews, police and the FBI all responded to the Central Park South home, the New York Post reported.

Donald Trump's loud and brash rhetoric — which has included insults aimed at Mexicans, Muslims and women — have led to threats and attacks against the real estate developer and those closest to him.

The closer he gets to becoming the Republican presidential nominee the more extreme the attacks have gotten. Last week, a rally in Chicago was cancelled following mass protests, and a day later a man attempted to rush the stage at an event in Ohio.

The hacker group Anonymous posted Thursday what it said was Trump's cell phone number and social security number.
