Explore Space From Home: NASA Launches New Searchable Image Database
It includes more than 140,000 images of planets, galaxies, stellar phenomena and more.

Whether you're looking to explore the deepest reaches of the cosmos or you're looking for a new computer wallpaper image, NASA released a new searchable multimedia database this week that will mesmerize and delight you.
Compiling more than 140,000 images, the database contains gems from across the solar system and even glimpses into other galaxies. All files on the database are downloadable, and the search tool scales to fit computers, tablets or phones.
"The library is not comprehensive, but rather provides the best of what NASA makes publicly available from a single point of presence on the web," the administration said in a press release. "Additionally, it is a living website, where new and archival images, video and audio files continually will be added."
