Fight Over Last Piece Of Fried Chicken Turns Deadly: Police

A Houston man admitted to his crimes.

A Houston man was arrested and charged with murder after a fight over the last piece of fried chicken ended with one man stabbed to death, according to police.

Five men were cooking dinner and drinking Friday in a West Houston apartment when Darwin Perez Gonzalez took the last piece of fried chicken, angering Reinaldo Cardoso Rivera, police said.

The two men ended up in a fist fight in the parking lot of the apartment complex, and Rivera stabbed Gonzalez, witnesses told police.

Rivera fled, knife in hand, police said.

Police said Rivera eventually returned to the scene with the knife and admitted to the stabbing. He was arrested and charged with murder.

“There was a single drumstick in the pan,” Homicide Detective Fil Waters told the Houston Chronicle. “You can’t script this stuff. It’s someone getting killed over a piece of chicken. Pretty tragic.”
