Hillary Clinton's email problems have been investigated for so long, the ordeal is likely to be in history books before it even ends.
With Monday's news concerning yet another batch of emails, keeping up with the case now officially requires a cheat sheet. Or maybe just some bullet points.
This is what you need to know:
- The State Department has released to the public 55,000 of Clinton's emails. They were released in 14 batches, the last of which came in February.
- Those emails were given to the State Department by Clinton and her attorneys because they were deemed work-related.
- The FBI looked at all of the emails on Clinton's server — including the 15,000 that made news Monday — during its year-long investigation.
- After that investigation, it gave the emails back to the State Department.
- The State Department is looking through the extra 14,900 emails to determine which ones are personal and private before releasing the rest.
So, not exactly an explosive development.
But the revelation is another chapter in the seemingly never-ending saga of Clinton's email usage, which has dogged her campaign since it started.
In a statement, the Clinton campaign said if any more work-related emails are discovered, "We support those documents being released."
