Houston Astros Pitcher Dies In Motorcycle Accident

The 20-year-old died in his native Dominican Republic.

Houston Astros pitcher Jose Rosario died Sunday in a motorcycle accident in his native Dominican Republic, the team said in a statement Monday.

Rosario, 20, was signed by the Astros in December of 2013 and split 2015 between the Dominican Summer League and the Gulf Coast League.

“He will be remembered as a long, lanky-framed pitcher with tremendous ability, an outgoing personality and an ever-positive disposition,” Oz Ocampo, Houston’s director of international, said in the statement. “He was a true student of the game and was constantly looking to learn and improve his abilities.”
