Houston Rockets Fire Coach 11 Games Into Season

Kevin McHale had coached the team since 2011.

The Houston Rockets have fired coach Kevin McHale, just 11 games into the current season, the team announced Wednesday.

The firing, first reported by Yahoo! Sports, comes as the Rockets are off to a 4-7 start so far in the 2015-16 season.

Houston went 56-26 last season, advancing all the way to the conference finals, where it fell to eventual champion Golden State in five games.

Assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff will take over as interim head coach.
