Houston's Favorite Gator Wranglers Are At It Again -- With A Hollywood Twist
This time they were called to a golf course.
When there’s something strange (and scaly) in the (Houston) neighborhood, there’s no question who to call anymore.
“The Gator Squad’s” latest triumph is a beast who had taken up residence at a Richmond golf course, “hissing at golfers and hoarding golf balls.”
The alligator was soaking in the rays on the golf course, while “challenging the golfers, and daring them to retrieve golf balls in the rough near him,” according to the Gator Squad’s Facebook page.

“Can’t be a naughty gator in our town without meeting Gator Squad,” they wrote on their Facebook page.
And the alligator was given an appropriate nickname inspired by Hollywood — Chubbs.

Chubbs is the name of a former pro golfer in the Adam Sandler hit “Happy Gilmore.” In the movie, Chubbs decides to help train Happy after his playing career ended when his hand was bitten off by... an alligator.
The Houston alligator Chubbs will be taken to a “gator farm,” the squad says, “where he will be fed lots of natural foods, have plenty of chubby ladies, and lots of water and land to roam.”
The Gator Squad rose to fame earlier this month, when one of its members — who masquerades as a dental hygienist during the day — was caught on camera wrangling an 800-pound gator in a Houston shopping center before releasing it safely into a reserve.
They’re licensed by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to come safely capture loose gators around Houston.
“These big guys mean us no harm, keep your distance, snap a pic, or call TPWD for help in dealing with a problem alligator,” they said.
