Local fans of both Trader Joe's and alcohol have reason to celebrate: the Barnstable Licensing Authority approved the transfer of a beer and wine license to the store located in Hyannis.
According to the report from The Barnstable Patriot, the room broke out in applause when the decision was made.

Proponents, including store manager Brian Fahey, also said the decision would allow Trader Joe's to add 15 full-time staff to the store.
Richard Scali, director of Regulatory Services in Barnstable, expressed concern that the parking lot might become even more crowded than it already is. But the license was granted anyway.
