Ted Cruz Wins, Donald Trump in Second: Idaho Republican Primary Results

Idaho voters were choosing between Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and John Kasich.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has been declared the winner of the 2016 Idaho Republican Primary, according to the Associated Press. Donald Trump is in second place.

Update at 8:44 p.m.:

As the results continue to trickle in, Ted Cruz has taken the lead in Idaho while Donald Trump is in second place, with 28 percent of the polls reporting, according to CNN.

Donald Trump was expected to get yet another Republican primary win Tuesday in Idaho, where voters took to the polls Tuesday morning to cast their votes in the race.

Trump is favored by 30 percent of likely Republican primary voters, according to an Idaho Politics Weekly poll conducted February 17 to 26.

The poll's margin of error was plus or minus 4 percent.

He was followed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz with 19 percent, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio with 16 percent and Ohio Gov. John Kasich with 5 percent.

Eleven percent said they didn’t know, and another 11 percent chose neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who has since dropped out of the race.

Heading into Tuesday, Trump led the field nationally in pledged delegates with 384, followed by Cruz with 300, Rubio with 151 and Kasich with 37.
