California Lawmaker Pushes Impeachment

Democratic Rep. Brad Sherman of California is pushing articles of impeachment against President Trump in the wake of recent developments in the Russian collusion story. While new revelations may mean real legal trouble for the Trump team, Sherman's efforts clearly lack the support necessary to make impeachment an imminent possibility. A White House spokeswoman said the move was "utterly and completely ridiculous." (Patch)

GOP Senators To Release New Health Reform Bill Thursday

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that a new version of the Senate's health care reform bill, meant to fulfill the party's promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, will be released today. A Congressional Budget Office score of the bill will come out next week. Under the first draft of the Senate bill, the CBO said that changes to health insurance law would add 22 million people to the ranks of the uninsured by 2026. (Patch)

Monkeys Can't Own Selfie Copyrights — Can They?

Naruto, the Indonesian macaque monkey that — or who, depending on what side of a looming argument you fall on — snapped the selfie that set off a bizarre copyright infringement case is getting another day in court. The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has asked the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to review a federal judge’s earlier decision holding that Naruto doesn’t have rights to the photo because the U.S. Copyright Act doesn’t extend to the animal kingdom.
