Memorial Day 2024: Are Costco, Kroger, Publix, Target, Walmart, Other Grocery Stores Open?

ACROSS AMERICA — Nobody wants a naked burger or hotdog at the Memorial Day picnic. If you’re short on condiments, or anything else to feed your crew, most grocery stores will be open as you’re celebrating the unofficial start to summer.

There are a couple of exceptions. Costco stores nationwide will be closed, as they are for all federal holidays. Natural Grocers, which has stores in 20 states, will also close.

And some stores that are open may observe limited hours, which can vary by location. It’s a good idea to call ahead before you waste a trip.

These stores will be open for at least part of Memorial Day.
