Miami International Airport Evacuation: 'All Clear' After 'Suspicious Item'
Several apparent travelers took to social media to share images of the scene.
Miami International Airport was given the all clear after a "suspicious item" forced a brief evactuation of a concourse Monday afternoon.
Several would-be passengers also took to social media to post pictures of large crowds waiting outside the airport.
The airport said in an initial tweet that concourse H had been evacuated. In a reply to a concerned citizen, the airport's verified Twitter account added that they were investigation a "suspicious item."
The airport clarified in a tweet to a second concerned family member of a traveler that it was a suspicious bag and "everyone is safe."
Following the all-clear, the airport said that operations had returned to normal, "but will take some time," adding that, "we appreciate your patience."
