Hillary Clinton Wins New Mexico Democratic Primary
She clinched enough delegates Tuesday to claim the Democratic nomination.
Hillary Clinton has won the New Mexico Democratic primary, several national news outlets, including the AP, have projected.
The win was part of a huge night for the former Secretary of State, who clinched the required delegates necessary to capture the Democratic nomination for president. She can now fully turn her attention toward what will surely be a heated general election against Donald Trump.

But Bernie Sanders — trailing by hundreds of delegates with just seven states left to vote — didn’t show any interest in giving up, even with the call.

New Mexico – your polls are open until 7 PM. Go out and vote for REAL CHANGE, not the same old, same old establishment politics. #PrimaryDay

Heading into Tuesday’s voting, Clinton’s lead in pledged delegates over Sanders was 1,812 to 1,521, according to a delegate count from the Associated Press.
On the Republican side, of course, Donald Trump has already wrapped up the nomination.
So how will New Mexico vote? State polling has been sparse, to say the least.
The only poll on RealClearPolitics’ list is an Albuquerque Journal poll from February that had Clinton up over Sanders in New Mexico 47 to 33 percent. It surveyed 401 likely primary voters and had a 4.9-percent margin of error.
The paper has endorsed Clinton for president.
