Nor'easter Travel Impacts: Delta, United, Southwest Waivers

Travel to and from major airports on the East Coast may be impacted starting Wednesday. Here's all the airlines that have announced waivers.

In anticipation of a nor'easter Wednesday that is expected to bring over a foot of snow to some parts of the Northeast, major airlines are already advising customers that travel to and from certain airports may be impacted. Many airlines have issued travel advisories and are providing travelers with information on how they can reschedule using a weather waiver.

According to the National Weather Service, the nor'easter will develop Wednesday and snow is expected in the northern mid-Atlantic and the Northeast. Along with airlines, Amtrak has also announced there will be service changes for those traveling on March 7.

Delta Airlines

Delta has issued a weather waiver for March 7-8 saying travel to and from the following cities in the Northeast may be impacted:

  • Hartford, CT (BDL)

American Airlines

American Airlines has a travel advisory for those scheduled to fly March 7-8. The advisory is for those traveling to and from the following cities:

  • Bangor, Maine (BGR)
  • Boston, Massachusetts (BOS)
  • Burlington, Vermont (BTV)
  • Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (MDT)

  • Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT)
  • New Haven, Connecticut (HVN)

Southwest says travel to and from the following cities starting at 3 p.m. on March 6 through March 8 may be disrupted:

  • Long Island MacArthur, NY (ISP)
  • Manchester, NH (MHT)

  • Portland, ME (PWM)
  • Providence, RI (PVD)
  • Washington Reagan National, DC (DCA)

United has issued a travel waiver for anyone traveling to and from the following cities between March 7-8:

Virgin says flights to and from the following cities may be impacted due to Wednesday's storm:

  • Washington DC, Reagan (DCA)
  • Washington DC, Dulles (IAD)

Flights may be delayed or canceled for those traveling March 6-8 to or from the following cities:

Washington - Dulles (IAD)Baltimore (BWI)

Hawaiian has issued a weather waiver for passengers flying March 7-8 to and from JFK Airport in New York City.
