Chumlee From 'Pawn Stars' To Plead Guilty To Weapons, Drug Charges To Avoid Jail: Reports
Austin Lee "Chumlee" Russell will take a plea deal in his case, according to multiple reports.

Austin Lee Russell, better known as “Chumlee” on the History Channel show "Pawn Stars," will plead guilty to drugs and weapons charges as part of a plea deal that will keep him out of jail, according to multiple reports.
Russell plans to plead guilty to a felony weapons charge and a misdemeanor attempted drug possession count, he told a judge Monday, according to the Associated Press. In return for pleading guilty, Russell will face three years probation but no jail time, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and if he stays out of trouble his record will only show a misdemeanor conviction.
The plea stems from a March 9 arrest, after police found meth, marijuana and firearms in his Las Vegas home, according to an arrest report. At the time, police were serving a warrant for sexual assault, but Russell was not charged with any sex crimes.

At his home that night, police found 12 guns, including several handguns, rifles and a shotgun, the arrest report says, along with doses of Xanax and various drug paraphernalia. The report also says he told police he smokes "a lot of weed."
"The weapons were not there for any criminal purpose, and Austin recognizes that the possession and use of marijuana is prohibited by the law except in certain circumstances," David Chesnoff, one of Russell's attorneys, told The Associated Press.
