Police: Bank Robber Is *Not* Mike Rowe Of 'Dirty Jobs'

The resemblance, though, is uncanny.

Police in Oregon posted pictures of a man they say robbed a bank, enlisting the public’s help to find out the man’s identity. Many people answered, claiming to know exactly who it is: “Dirty Jobs” host and TV personality Mike Rowe.

It isn’t.

The resemblance is uncanny, and the baseball hat and hoodie would seem to fit with Rowe’s rugged persona.

On his show, “Dirty Jobs,” Rowe visited with people who have, well, dirty jobs, and he spends time in their shoes. He currently hosts a similar show on CNN, “Somebody’s Gotta Do It.”

Rowe caught wind of the comments on the Medford, Oregon, Police Department’s Facebook page and attempted to exonerate himself.

“True, I am often attired in a sweatshirt and ball cap, and yes, I do share a certain resemblance with the culprit,” he said. “I’ve also been spotted in Medford on more than once occasion, (a lovely town by any standard.)

“However, I am not ’5’6”- 5’8” tall with a small to medium build.’ The last time I was 5’6” - 5’8” I was in the 6th grade. And the ’small to medium’ ship sailed some time ago.”

He even suggested the culprit had disguised himself as Rowe.

Medford Police apparently found his explanation convincing and have moved on to other suspects.

The suspect remained at large as of Thursday morning.
