President Trump Criticizes His Own Administration On Twitter

"The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by 'intelligence' like candy," he wrote. "Very un-American!"

Following potentially explosive revelations connecting Donald Trump's campaign aides to Russian intelligence officials, the president took to Twitter Wednesday morning to decry the leaking of the information.

"The fake news media is going crazy with their conspiracy theories and blind hatred. & are unwatchable," he wrote. " is great!"

He called the reports of a ties between his campaign and Russia, originally reported by the New York Times, "non-sense" concocted to make up for Hillary Clinton's loss in the election. Instead, he said, we should pay attention to the illegal leaks coming from inside his own administration.

He also lashed out at criticism that he was soft on Russia, pointing out that Crimea was invaded under President Obama's watch. Meanwhile, the White House has yet to offer a statement on reports of a Russian spy ship spotted off the Atlantic coast.

Some of Trump's own statements seem to confirm parts of the New York Times report. If the issue with the story is that it includes leaked classified information, that means that the Times report is accurate, at least in the sense that it reflects information held by intelligence agencies — in other words, it's not "fake news."

The Trump administration has clearly been beset by extensive leaks, which led to Michael Flynn's resignation Monday night as national security adviser.
