How to watch every gold medal being won at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The 2016 Olympic Games from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, have already produced their fair share of thrilling finishes and riveting storylines.

With multiple events happening simultaneously all day and night, it can be hard to keep up with the frantic schedule if you're trying to watch the games live on TV or live stream them on a computer, tablet or phone.

And for some people, the gold medal events are all they want to see, not the qualifying rounds or semifinal heats. For those people, here's what you need to know.

2016 Rio Olympics gold medal events schedule

For our money, the best and easiest day-by-day Olympics schedule to use is this one from NBC's official Olympics website. It has a break down of what events are happening each day — so you can plan your watching by sport or by day.

And it tells you which days medals will actually be awarded. To drill deeper, click on the medal icon to find out what time that day the event is going on. If it's happening on the day you are viewing the schedule, you will also get a link to a live stream.

How to watch the 2016 Olympic Games online

You'll be able to watch "all Olympic competition" through the NBC Sports app and NBCOlympics.com, according to NBC. The NBC Sports app is available both on tablets and on smartphones, so you have plenty of ways to watch the Olympics on the go.

But there is a catch. You will have you authenticate through your current TV provider to get access. If you don't have a cable login, you are out of luck.

If you are really desperate to watch the Olympics but don't want to pay for cable, there is a workaround you can use. Both Sling TV and PlayStation Vue — two verified, online-only TV providers — offer 30-day free trials if you haven't signed up before.

Just be sure to cancel your subscription after the Olympics are over so your credit card won't get charged.
