Students Walkout On 19th Anniversary Of Columbine
Students across the country are demonstrating once again to demand change that ends gun violence in American schools and communities.

Students across the country have decided that one walkout to protest gun violence wasn't enough, so they chose to empty their schools again Friday, the 19th anniversary of the shooting at Columbine High School.
According to organizers, the walkouts are planned in hundreds of schools across the country on Friday. The protests follow a round of activism spurred by the student leaders at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The shooting in Parkland left 17 people dead and students from the school have given a new voice to youth leaders affected by gun violence.
For Friday's walkouts, students plan to gather for moments of silence honoring the victims of Columbine and other mass shootings. Some students will head to rallies at their statehouses. Others will stay at school to discuss gun violence. Some are holding voting registration drives.
