Target Offering Teachers Discount For Back-To-School Shopping

Target is offering teachers a discount for back-to-school shopping between July 15-21.

Teachers nationwide are eligible for the 15 percent off promotion on select classroom supplies, including pens, markers, classroom storage, tissues and more, the company said. The promotion is valid in stores and online.

Target says teachers can visit target.com/teacherprep starting July 15 to get a coupon code.

In response to questions about whether the discount applied to those who homeschool and licensed child care providers, Target said they would eligible for the discount as well.

Teachers are allowed a $250 tax deduction for what they spend on school supplies but educators often spend much more than that. According to NPR, many teachers reported spending as much as $1,000 a year on school supplies.
