Target Will Let You Return Gifts You Don't Like — Before They Ship

The retailer unveiled its plans for the 2017 holiday season, which includes one feature designed to make sure you like your gift.

Target has rolled out its plans for the holiday season and one notable feature seems designed to ensure that your friends and family actually like what you're gifting them. The retailer says what it's doing is making gift-giving "foolproof," leaving gift recipients with the option of changing what it is they receive.

The feature, called "GiftNow" is available through the Target website. For gift-givers shopping on the Target website, they will have the option to click on the "GiftNow" button, sending the gift recipient an e-gift box. Before the gift even ships, recipients can either accept the gift, change the color or size of the gift or even choose something entirely different. It is unclear whether the gift-giver will know that their gift has been rejected, changed or accepted by the recipient.

Some of the other holiday specialties Target is introducing include eight of the retailer's exclusive brands that will be available for the first time this holiday season. One of those much anticipated brands is the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, co-designed with HGTV Fixer Upper's Chip and Johanna Gaines. That line will feature about 300 products, most of them priced at under $30.
