The Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia wrapped up Thursday night, capping a whirlwind four days that featured speeches from a current and former president and ended with the official nomination of Hillary Clinton, the first female presidential nominee of a major party in U.S. history.

The convention was also a major test of the party's unity following a bruising primary battle between Clinton and Bernie Sanders. Sanders supporters jeered through several of the addresses, and protests were common outside the Wells Fargo Center.

Inside, speeches from the likes of Michelle Obama, Joe Biden and Tim Kaine sought to heal those wounds and unify voters behind Clinton to defeat Donald Trump.
