WATCH: UFO Sighting In Houston?

Are these lights out of this world? See for yourself.

Devin Conrad and Ronald Charles were driving through downtown Houston, taking in the sights and sounds on Charles’ phone and didin’t think anything of it.

Two hours later, Conrad noticed something a little funny in one of the videos.

The six-second video of mysterious lights over the “Be Someone” graffiti on I-45 in Houston has the town abuzz with talk of unidentified flying objects.

In the video posted to Twitter, which has been retweeted almost 4,000 times, a ring of lights appears to hover over the streets briefly before the video cuts off.

Conrad and Charles didn’t want to make any assumptions about it. But the public made theirs.

“We don’t know for sure,” Conrad told Patch by phone Thursday. “We were just like, ‘What was that in the sky?’ And we posted it to see what people think. Everybody started going crazy like, ‘Yep, it’s a UFO.’”

They’ve heard just about every other theory out there, too. People have told them it could be buildings, light poles, air planes and even a parachuter with lights on his parachute.

One thing that’s not disputed: The video has blown up locally.

“I looked at my Facebook one night, and it was like ‘There’s a UFO spotted over downtown Houston,’” Charles said. “And there was my video.”

The sighting has made the rounds in the UFO-spotting community.

The website UFO Sightings Daily suggest the lights are a “cloaked UFO” that was briefly exposed.

“The cloaked UFO is moving over traffic, but is accidentally seen when the reflection of the streetlights below it cause trouble with the cloak,” writes Scott Waring. “For a cloak to work, light source needs to be behind it. If its both, it will be revealed.”

Others, though, aren’t so convinced.

The Houston Chronicle says the lights could just be the driver’s speedometer or other car lights reflecting in the windshield.

Probably more realistic, but way less exciting.
