DEA Administrator Chuck Rosenberg, Comey Ally And Trump Critic, Resigns: Report
Rosenberg has been a close ally of former FBI Director James Comey, whom Trump fired in May.

WASHINGTON, DC — DEA Administrator Chuck Rosenberg is stepping down as the acting head of the agency after frustration with President Trump, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
The Times reports that Rosenberg has grown "disillusioned" with the president. He was a long-time friend and ally of former FBI Director James Comey, whose termination by the president in May reportedly sparked an obstruction-of-justice investigation. After Trump had encouraged law enforcement to handle people roughly while arresting them, the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration sent the employees of his department a reminder not to mistreat suspects. Rosenberg was appointed by President Obama to the DEA and previously served under President George W. Bush as a United States attorney. His resignation from the Trump administration marks yet another high-profile departure in the president's short tenure, including the firing of Comey, former acting Attorney General Sally Yates, former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and former Press Secretary Sean Spicer among others.
