Dreamers And DACA, Facts And Faces: 'I Just Love Helping People'
Meet Angel Bautista. The end of DACA could throw his dreams into chaos.
WASHINGTON, DC — Donald Trump promised last year to reduce the number of bad hombres in the United States by building a wall to keep any more illegal immigrants from entering the country while taking care of the worst of those already here by unleashing a small army of law officer to corral every felon among them.
Well into Trump's seventh month as president, though, construction of the wall has yet to begin, and maybe never will, and deportations of non-U.S citizens with criminal records have slowed considerably compared to during President Obama's time in office.
Instead, Trump has targeted nearly 800,000 people who make up the single most successful group of undocumented immigrants now in the country. Reports out of Washington about a deal that may keep these people in the United States were conflicting Thursday, leaving this bottom line: They are still in real danger of being deported.
