Hillary Clinton On Harvey Weinstein: 'Shocked And Appalled' About Sexual Misconduct Reports
"The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated," the former secretary of state said.

NEW YORK, NY — As an increasing number of women accuse Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct — including three who came forward Tuesday in the New York Times who say he raped them — Hillary Clinton issued a statement saying she was "shocked and appalled" by the revelations about her former political donor.
"The behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated," the former secretary of state said in a statement posted by aide Nick Merrill. "Their courage and support of others is critical in helping to stop this kind of behavior." The revelations about Weinstein's past broke last week, when The New York Times revealed an extensive account of decades of sexual harassment claims against the producer. Since the news broke, many in Hollywood and the press have said rumors about Weinstein's treatment of women have been rampant, but new outlets have previously declined to report on the behavior.

Weinstein is also well known as donor to the Democratic Party. Many politicians who have received donations from him in the past have said they will be donating the money they received from him to groups advocating for women. Clinton did not mention Weinstein's donations to her political campaigns in the statement.

Some critics of Clinton has accused her of hypocrisy for frequently condemning President Trump in light of the sexual misconduct allegations against him while remaining silent on Weinstein.
