In the coming weeks, the Village of Mokena will being routing and sealing many roads in the village. The work will be funded by more than $41,000 in motor fuel tax funds.
John Troy, Mokena District 159 board member since 2009 and current board president, resigned effective Monday, July 23. Troy plans to apply for the district's open business manager role and resigned to avoid any appearance of impropriety.
Sparks, a smoking outlet and underlying wiring issues led Mokena officials to declare the building uninhabitable last week. Work to repair the issues is underway.
