She earned her bachelor's in journalism from the University of Florida before going on to write for her hometown newspaper and other community newspapers. She then earned her master's from the Knight Foundation's fellowship for community journalism at the University of Alabama in 2010.
She is completely dedicated to writing stories that are powerful, make a difference and mean something to people, as well as stories that are memorable.
