The power of a Christmas wreath: Herriman's part in national day to honor fallen veterans (herrimanjournal.com) — Herriman is inviting residents to honor local veterans at a Wreaths Across America ceremony at Herriman City Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m. Volunteers of all ages can help place live wreaths on about 180 veteran graves, and residents are encouraged to sponsor $17 wreaths that support both the ceremony and veteran programs.

Holiday service traditions: Herriman residents spread the joy of the season (herrimanjournal.com) — Herriman residents are turning holiday traditions into hands-on service, from delivering homemade treats to local firefighters and police to caroling and staging Nativity reenactments at nearby senior communities. Two Herriman families also organize a large volunteer-run Thanksgiving feast for formerly homeless residents in Salt Lake City, rallying neighbors and youth groups to cook, serve, and share time with guests.
   

3. YouTube sensation among those called to church advisory council for young men (deseret.com) — A Herriman resident, Rogelio Osuna of the Herriman Utah Anthem Stake, has been called to the Young Men General Advisory Council of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He joins YouTube creator Luke J. Nichols and other leaders from Utah and worldwide who will advise the Young Men General Presidency on supporting youth across the church.
   

4. Real Salt Lake Acquires $1.55 Million From Montreal In Exchange For DF Brayan Vera (rsl.com) — Real Salt Lake, based in Herriman, has traded defender Brayan Vera to CF Montreal in exchange for up to $1.55 million in future General Allocation Money, keeping a sell-on clause for any later move. The club also released its 2026 MLS schedule, highlighted by Lionel Messi and Inter Miami’s first-ever visit to Utah on April 22, 2026, plus several other global stars coming to Sandy.
   

5. Utah Legislature approves repeal of anti-collective bargaining law (utahnewsdispatch.com) — Herriman residents are represented in a major statewide shift as lawmakers repeal HB267, the law that would have banned collective bargaining for public sector unions. Rep. Candice Pierucci, R-Herriman, opposed the repeal, while union leaders and many legislators framed it as a win for teachers and other public employees after a large signature campaign.
