Logan police give tips to prevent theft and burglary during holidays (hjnews.com) — Logan City Police are warning residents about a recent rise in vehicle burglaries and sharing practical ways to protect cars, homes, and holiday packages. Officers urge people to lock vehicles, hide valuables, track deliveries, and make homes look occupied while traveling. They also remind residents to stay vigilant, coordinate with neighbors, and call local dispatch or 911 to report suspicious activity.

2. County approves 2026 budget; library given six months to supplement revenue (hjnews.com) — Cache County leaders meeting in Logan have approved a 2026 budget topping $120 million, including $4.87 million for the Logan-Cache Airport and only six months of funding for the Cache County Library while it seeks new revenue. Officials trimmed more than $1.7 million to limit reserve use and also advanced an Open Space proposal to protect 334 acres of farmland at the valley’s north gateway.

Utahns hope drop in gas prices continue (hjnews.com) — Logan drivers are seeing gas prices below the national average, but still slightly higher than this time last year, even as Utah’s overall prices fall. AAA data shows Logan’s metro price now mirrors the state average, with Cache County among Utah’s cheaper counties. Locals say they welcome the relief at the pump but still feel squeezed by overall costs.

4. What a Blast! NASA Langley Begins Plume-Surface Interaction Tests (nasa.gov) — A rocket motor developed at Utah State University in Logan is headed into a major NASA test campaign to study how lander exhaust kicks up lunar dust. The 3D-printed hybrid motor will fire inside a huge vacuum chamber, helping engineers design safer Moon and future Mars landings. Logan’s research role ties local innovation directly to upcoming Artemis missions.
