Here are the top three stories in Salt Lake City today:
- Salt Lake City's mayor and leaders of the Black community raised the Juneteenth flag at City hall. The ceremony was part of Flag Day - a time for celebration and unity. The government-recognized holiday will be on Monday since Jun. 19 is a Sunday this year. All state offices will be closed on Monday - including liquor stores. (KJZZ)
- Salt Lake Community College has been cited for discriminating against a pregnant student. According to the federal Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights, the community college violated the pregnant student's rights - a violation of Title IX. The department has determined that the community college failed to respond to the student's complaint, failed to determine if she needed special services, and failed to excuse her pregnancy-related absences while allowing her to make up missed work. - The Sauce Lake City Fest - Utah's first hot sauce expo - is this weekend. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy local food, drinks, and sample local hot sauce.
