The Wave Signs Off as Coast 103 Debuts in Salt Lake City (radioink.com) — Salt Lake City radio listeners have a new option on 103.1 FM, where Capital Broadcasting has replaced The Wave with Coast 103, a relaxed adult contemporary station. The new format emphasizes smooth pop from the 1970s to today and promises three commercial-free hours of music every weekday, guided by local station leadership and a national consultant.
   

3. "Zero tolerance for fraud, waste, and abuse": Gov Cox explains how officials prevent fraud in Utah (kslnewsradio.com) — From the state Capitol in Salt Lake City, Gov. Spencer Cox is stressing that Utah has strict safeguards to prevent the kind of childcare fraud now under investigation in Minnesota. He highlights electronic attendance tracking, in-person monitoring, and his GRIT reform initiative, saying agencies are already saving money while reviewing programs to ensure zero tolerance for fraud, waste, or abuse.
   

4. Utah to get $195M to improve rural health care, innovate (ksl.com) — From Salt Lake City, state leaders are outlining how Utah will use a $195 million first-year federal grant to overhaul rural health care. The five-year Rural Health Transformation Program will fund telehealth, workforce recruitment, chronic disease prevention, and other innovations aimed at improving access and outcomes in small communities across the state, while offsetting earlier Medicaid cuts.
   

5. More than 40 law enforcement agencies crack down on impaired drivers during New Year's holiday (ksltv.com) — Salt Lake City–based Utah Highway Patrol leaders are warning drivers they’ll run zero-tolerance DUI enforcement through New Year’s, with 41 agencies working 300 extra shifts statewide. With dozens of recent drug- and alcohol-related fatalities, troopers urge residents to plan sober rides, use designated drivers, and avoid becoming part of grim holiday crash statistics.
