Man accused of causing thousands of dollars in damage after pouring fuel inside apartments (kutv.com) — Salt Lake City police say a man poured gasoline through two downtown apartment buildings near 500 West early Friday, causing thousands in damage and forcing a café to close while residents were still inside. Officers arrested a 29-year-old suspect, who allegedly admitted planning to ignite the fuel because he believed his dog was stolen, and booked him into Salt Lake County Jail.
3. A Utah institution that closed due to tariffs lives on in a new form (sltrib.com) — A beloved music shop from Murray has quietly returned to life as a guitar repair business on South West Temple in South Salt Lake, just minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. Guitar Czar’s new shop focuses on high-end instrument work, including specialized Plek Pro setup services, giving local musicians a nearby option to keep their gear in top shape.
4. Police looking for a second suspect after deadly shooting in South Jordan leads to 1 arrest (ksltv.com) — A man was fatally shot early Saturday near 11500 South Copperstone Drive in South Jordan, and one suspect is already in custody at the Salt Lake County Jail. Investigators, working from Salt Lake City, are still searching for a second suspect but say the incident appears isolated. Anyone with information is urged to contact South Jordan police.
5. Terrified Woman Rents Horror Utah Airbnb With Disturbing YouTube Searches and a Front Door That Won't Lock: ‘This Is Like an Episode of Get Out' (thenerdstash.com) — A visiting couple says a secluded Salt Lake City Airbnb turned terrifying after they found disturbing true-crime YouTube searches queued on multiple TVs and discovered the front door wouldn’t lock. The woman later claimed someone entered during the night, prompting a tense wait for police and sparking online debate about safety and listening to instincts when staying in local rentals.
