Vermont mother, daughter die in cars year apart

Family twice struck by highway tragedy

A Vermont woman killed by a wrong-way I-89 driver lost her mother a year ago on the same highway.

Hailey Westcot, 21, of Northfield died when her car was hit December 17 in Richmond by a wrong-way driver.

Westcot's mother, Beverly Emerson, 42, of Randolph died in October 2024 when the car in which she was a passenger went off the same road.
