1 VA Water Park Ranks Among Nation's Best: U.S. News
U.S. News & World Report has named one VA water-themed attractions among the best places to beat the heat during the summer.
VIRGINIA — One Virginia water park made a splash with U.S. News & World Report reviewers. The website named one watery attraction in the state as being among the top nation's 36 water parks for 2023.
The website reviewed numerous water parks across the country and lauded this Virginia destination as a great place to stay cool on a hot summer day.
The standout is: Water Country USA in Williamsburg.

The park is currently closed for the season; opening day is May 13, 2023. A new attraction this summer at Virginia's largest water park is the Riptide Race, a water slide that pits teams against each other as riders take their mark atop a 54-foot tower before racing through 520 feet of slide.
"Water Country USA is easy to reach from Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and the Yorktown Battlefield," U.S. News wrote. "Noteworthy amenities include climate-controlled pools, multiple slides and a huge wave pool – plus Big Daddy Falls, a whitewater rafting adventure. It also boasts some new attractions: A raft ride called Aquazoid Amped opened in 2022, plunging guests down 864 feet, while parkgoers can race each other through the 520-foot-long Riptide Race starting in summer 2023."
