The two people involved in a shooting on Sunday in Fredericksburg are a 71-year-old man, who died, and a 68-year-old woman, who remains hospitalized in critical condition, the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office said. The two people involved in the shootings were known to each other.

Authorities are investigating a claim that an Ashburn man was fatally shot after his pit bull attacked another dog. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office saiddeputies found Billy Gamarra-Olarte, 34, suffering from a single gunshot wound.
