Last “Friendsgiving” at the original Food Court at Reber-Thomas

Liberty University's annual "Friendsgiving" felt extra special this year.

Liberty University’s annual “Friendsgiving” felt extra special this year. On Tuesday, November 15, students poured into the Food Court at Reber-Thomas right at 5:00 p.m., ready to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast.

Liberty Dining by Sodexo prepared and served classic Thanksgiving favorites, including roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, herbed stuffing, and sweet potato casserole and, for dessert, apple, pecan, and pumpkin pies.

“This year’s Friendsgiving was particularly memorable, since it was the last one that would be held in the Food Court at Reber-Thomas,” said Marketing Manager Shelby Burton.

Next year, Liberty students will enjoy the same Thanksgiving delights at the new dining hall, which is currently referred to as the “New Reber-Thomas.” The existing building will be bulldozed, and a new structure is planned for academics will be built in its place.

In addition to the food, students were also given an array of Thanksgiving-themed activities to participate in. There was a photo booth with turkey hats for students to pose with, and an “I Am Thankful For…” banner where students could write down what they were thankful for this year. Additionally, staff encouraged students to bring decorations for their own tables.
