These 5 VA Golf Courses Rated Best In The State By Golfers

VIRGINIA — Five Virginia golf courses have been recognized as the best public courses in the state, according to a new list.

GolfPass recently released its Golfers’ Choice 2025 list, which highlights the top public courses in each U.S. state based on hundreds of thousands of recreational golfer reviews.

"With more people playing golf now than ever before, this year’s lists continue to shine a spotlight on the game’s best playgrounds for everyday golfers," GolfPass said in a news release. "Unlike golf course rankings published by industry insiders who have access to golf courses the public may never have the opportunity to play, the Golfers’ Choice lists are totally consumer driven."

These five Virginia courses made this year's list:

1. Independence Golf Club – Championship Course, Midlothian
2. Hobbs Hole Golf Club, Tappahannock
3. Lake Monticello Golf Course, Palmyra
4. The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa – Old Course, Hot Springs
5. Bryce Resort Golf Course, Basye
