This VA BBQ Restaurant Named Among Best In The U.S.

EDINBURG, VA — A Virginia eatery has been named among the top 50 barbecue restaurants in the United States.

Travel website OnlyInYourState.com recently asked its readers and editorial staff to determine which restaurants across the country are serving up the best barbecue.

From Texas-style in the Pacific Northwest to longstanding BBQ joints in the South (and everything in between), Only In Your State then narrowed the choices down to the 50 best barbecue spots across the United States.

Included on the list was Bean's BBQ, a beloved small-town stop located in Shenandoah County.

"Bean’s is housed in a building initially used as a print shop. That was over 100 years ago. It later became a garage and, still later, the town fire station," barbecue enthusiast John Tanner wrote on his blog. "It’s a large open bay with a counter in the back at which you order and pay, and a wood-fired grill in front, right on Route 11.

According to Only In Your State, Bean's emerged as the clear winner in Virginia, with the ribs hailed as “finger-licking perfection” and the barbecue chicken capturing diners’ hearts and stomachs.

Those who've journeyed there agree that Bean's is worth the stop.

"Absolute perfection," one person wrote. "The portions are very generous and the prices are more than fair. The pulled pork is moist and flavorful. All of the sauces are delicious. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone."

"If someone would have told me that one day I would be eating half a rack of pork ribs on the hood of my car in the middle of December and loving every minute, I would not have believed them," another raved. "But there I was, licking the BBQ sauce off the hood."
