• Sheriff's office reports high number of crashes (ameliamonitor.com) — Drivers in Amelia County, including those around Amelia Court House, are being urged to cut down on distractions after 512 crashes were reported between January and November, with a spike to 73 in November alone. The sheriff’s office says most wrecks stem from manual, visual, or cognitive distractions, and believes simply focusing on the road can significantly reduce accidents.
